Instructor: Sensei

Bio: I started studying Judo in
Huntington, MA in 1966. When I joined the Marine
Corps in 1970 I continued with judo and starting studying various styles
of Karate and Tae Kwon Do. I was on the Marine Corps judo team from
1973 to 1978 and was the all Marine Corps champion in 1975 and 1976.
When I left the Marine Corps I attended the University of South
Carolina at Spartanburg and was on their Judo team
(1978 - 1979). I continued to study other martial arts based on what was
available in the area.
After
entering the Army in 1981 the competitive phase of my judo career went on
hold but I continued to study other marital arts. I received a black
belt in Tang Soo Do in 1985. I continued to study various martial
arts throughout my army career. While stationed at Fort
Leonard Wood, MO, I studied a mixed martial arts style with Professor Alan
Gillian. While I was a training company commander I taught
self-defense and army combatives to the trainees assigned to my company.
After
retiring from the Army in 1994 I moved to Leavenworth, KS and have been studying various
martial arts with Ken Baker Hanshi. These arts consist of Karate,
Tae Kwon Do, Aikido and Okinawa Kobudo. While here I studied International
Tae Kwon Do with Mr. Frank Hannon who also instructs for MWR Fort
Leavenworth.
I have
been teaching Jujutsu for MWR Fort Leavenworth since
1995.
Throughout my martial arts career I have trained and
taught the martial arts to anyone interested in studying and learning
them.
